Disko is a digital learning platform created by Cappelen Damm, and I was brought on to illustrate part of their high school mathematics content. This project was a collaboration between me and Cody Lehman.

The brief gave plenty of room to play. We drew inspiration from 90s point-and-click adventures and retro pixel art.

The illustrations weren't just there to decorate the lessons. Each scene was built around a maths problem, with different elements used as part of the learning experience itself. Students could interact with the illustrations and use visual clues to work through problems, making the whole thing feel a bit more like exploring a game than working through a textbook.

I grew up with games that inspired this style, so it was a nice excuse to revisit that visual language while creating something educational at the same time.
